My Philosophy

‘Healthy mother, healthy baby’ should be the bare minimum, it should not be the only priority. We should not lose sight of a birthing mother’s inner strength, nor her right to be heard, valued, empowered and respected.

Hi, I’m AIRLIE.

I’m a proud mother, wife, sister, daughter, friend and student doula. I truly believe that those things make up the core essence of why I was put on this earth.

I used to wander somewhat aimlessly, unsure of my life’s calling, until I fell pregnant and birthed my son. My pregnancy, birth and postpartum journey opened up a new world to me. A world of realising inner strength, embracing vulnerability and allowing growth. I just knew that this world was one that I wanted to exist in forever.

When my son was nine months old I began my training with the Doula Training Academy and am on my way to becoming a registered Doula. Whilst undergoing my training, I began to process my own experience with fresh eyes and a new understanding and being able to gift this education and support to women and families across Adelaide makes my heart sing. The biggest thing that I have learnt during my time as a Doula and as a mother, is that you never get to redo your birth experiences. How you are treated, valued, empowered and supported during this time is vital to not only how you reflect on it later, but also to your experience as a new mother.

In 2025 I birthed my second son utilising the strategies I had learnt during my studies. His unmedicated birth was blissful and calm but most importantly, I felt strong, empowered and in control.

I have a warm and open heart, a desire to help and to hold, and a strength to advocate in challenging times. I am non-judgemental and believe that every birthing person should be granted the gift to choose how they birth. Because while birth may be a short moment in time in your journey of life, the memories and postpartum are forever.

It is not lost on me what an absolute honour it is to metaphorically (and sometimes physically) hold the hands of mothers and families as they take their steps into the world of matrescence and parenthood. It would truly be my absolute privilege to accompany you on your journey and show you the inner strength that already exists inside of you.

Why ‘The Sacred Season’?

As emotional, beautiful, difficult, enduring, wild, and raw pregnancy, birth and postpartum is, it is fleeting in the grand timeline that is our life. It is a season.

Despite this, it is a season that requires our whole self - everything that we have to give. It asks of us our emotional, physical, mental, psychological strength.

It is the giving over of our bodies as we grow and bring new life into the world and the continuous sacrifice as we keep that life alive. It is learning to understand and embrace our new selves and our new way of living. We must nurture, nourish, revitalise and be gentle on ourselves in this, our Sacred Season.‍ ‍

My business is a safe space. I welcome people from all communities, families, backgrounds, cultures, abilities and religions.

We all deserve the opportunity to experience a positive and empowered birth, however you feel that looks to you.
